Why I Love Reward Charts

I’ll be the first to admit that we are constantly bribing our children. A small reward for positive behavior to keep the day moving forward. I use to give a little treat but when my daughter cracked her teeth on the tub and suffered from tooth decay, she wasn’t allowed to have sweets anymore so I had to think of a different bribe! Reward charts are the perfect answer!

She likes hanging it nice and high so her brother can’t touch it. Each time she does something positive, or doesn’t give me trouble brushing her teeth, she gets a sticker. When she fills the chart, she gets a prize. It usually consists of something I was planning on getting her anyway. Like water balloons for a hot day or light sticks for a fun evening. This time, she got a slip-n-slide. Little bro got in on the fun too.

My daughter loves getting stickers. She earns them by doing worksheets, brushing her hair or doing something awesome that I normally wouldn’t expect of her.

I usually let my daughter pick out her chart each time. Here are a few I’ve made for you. I hope they can help instill positive behavior and provide a smoother day for you and your little ones.

Click on each picture to print. The stickers can be printed on 1 inch round sticker sheets like these or full sheet sticker paper. I use full sheet sticker paper and punch them out with a 1 inch paper punch.
