Paper Lantern Jellyfish

My favorite part about these ADORABLE Paper Lantern Jellyfish? They are so easy!!! After going all out on our Pirate Birthday Party, I was slightly disenfranchised with big projects. For Ahria’s  Spongebob Squarepants 4th birthday party, I stuck with easy -but still cool!- crafts. After we got into the rhythm, these only took about 30 minutes.

You will need:
Paper Lanterns

Crepe Paper Rolls
Tape
String for hanging

Start by opening all of the lanterns. I had never used these before. They are really delicate! Be careful not to rip them.

Tape long strands of crepe paper to the inside of the lantern and on the metal frame. We did about 10 strands per lantern.

Crinkle each strand. Ahria liked to twist them and crinkle. She had fun but it really works best if you crinkle one strand at a time so they don’t bunch up.

These were perfect for our Spongebob “Under The Sea” Party! We found these Paper Pineapples to add to our decorations (remember when I said I needed this party to be EASY!). I think they turned out really cool!
