Polar Bear Mask

We continued our winter theme with these adorable Polar Bear Masks. I set up a whole day of polar bear fun with Eric Carle’s Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What Do You Hear? He makes some of the best children’s books, doesn’t he?! The kids had fun pretending they were polar bears and roaring as loud as they could.

You will need:
Paper Plate
Styrofoam Cup or Fruit Cup
Scissors
Cotton Balls
Glue or Mod Podge
Construction Paper
Foam Paint Brush

Instructions:

Cut the bottom off of a foam cup. This will be the nose. A fruit cup works great too!

Cut 2 holes in the paper plate as eyes.

Glue the bottom of the cup on the bottom of the plate under the eyes. We used tacky glue for this part. It holds the cup on nicely.

Let the glue dry.

Paint the plate and cup with mod podge or glue. Foam Paint Brushes work nicely for this. Pull apart the cotton balls and stick them on. The more the cotton balls were pulled apart, the more it looked like his fur.

Cut a black triangle nose out of construction paper and glue it on the cup.

We totally forgot to put ears on our bears but they are still adorable!

Parade around like polar bears with your furry masks!
