Yarn Wrapped Branches – Nature Inspired Hanging Craft
This vibrant and colorful yarn-wrapped branch craft, often known as a “God’s Eye,” is a wonderful way to combine natural elements with creative expression. It’s made by weaving yarn around crossed sticks. The mix of colors adds a fun and personalized touch. There are endless patterns you can make with all different colors.
To start, hot glue 2 sticks together in a cross.
Wrap the yarn around each stick as you continue to the next stick in a circular motion. You might choose to also go across the middle to start so the branch centers are covered.
Continue to wrap around each branch, changing colors as you wish. Then tie off the yarn to finish.
Each side has a unique look that I love! I can’t choose a favorite.
This craft is perfect for kids, young or older, because it’s simple, hands-on, and encourages creativity. For younger kids, this is a great way to develop fine motor skills. Plus, it’s a fun way to introduce them to weaving and colors, and they feel proud of the beautiful result they can hang up and show off. Older kids can practice different techniques and patterns.
