Tornado In A Jar
With recent events keeping us at home, I’ve been trying to do some fun activities with the kids. This Tornado In A Jar is a fun experiment for the kids to play with. It would go along great with a study about weather and tornadoes! It’s super easy to put together and only takes a minute!
You will need:
Mason Jar (pickle jar, salsa jar.. any jar with a lid!)
Dish soap
Food Coloring
Vinegar (optional)
Instructions:
1. Fill the mason jar with water leaving about an inch at the top.
2. Put in a few drops of food coloring.
3. Add 1 teaspoon of dish soap.
That’s it! Now shake it in a circular motion to create a tornado.
*TIP* If your mixture gets too foamy, add a teaspoon of vinegar. You can even make this an experiment by trying one with the vinegar and one without. See which works better!

My kids had a blast with theses and they only take a minute to make! Totally worth the fun… Give it a go!
