Storm Mobile Craft
We saw an amazing lightning storm this weekend! We watched from the window as strikes filled the sky. It was really neat watching the storm roll in. After, we decided to make a storm craft. These mobiles are super cute and would be a great addition to your weather studies!
You will need:
Cotton Balls
Glue
Yarn or String
Construction Paper
Hole Punch
Tape
Cut out a bunch of raindrops and lightning bolts. I used grey and blue paper for the raindrops and yellow for the lightning bolts. Template at the bottom of this page if you’d like to trace them!
Start with a sheet of blue construction paper. Pull apart cotton balls and glue them on to create clouds. We used a glue stick.
Now punch holes along the bottom edge of the paper. Roll the paper into a tube and tape it together. On the top of each side of the paper, punch one hole. This will be used to thread the yarn that will hang your mobile up.
Thread yarn through each bottom hole. You don’t need to tie these as the raindrops will keep them from falling out.
Thread a shorter piece of yarn through each top hole and tie it together. This is where you hang your mobile.
Tape a raindrop at the end of each piece of string. Tape raindrops and lightning bolts on the yarn in various places. Hang your mobile!
