Snowball Shooters

We got our first good snow here in NY so this week has been all things winter. We built a snowman, did some winter worksheets, crafts and today we made these Snowball Shooters! The kids loved launching their snowballs at each other. These adorable shooters are easy to make and only took us about 10 minutes.

You will need:
Balloon
Styrofoam Cup (8 or 12 oz is best)
Scissors
Construction Paper
Glue Stick
Googly Eyes
Cotton balls or Marshmallows

Instructions:

1. Cut a hole in the bottom of the cup.

2. Cut off the tail of the balloon so the hole is larger.

3. Put a bit of glue around the outside of the bottom of the cup. Open the balloon with your fingers and put it over the hole.

4. Glue on your snowman face. We used googly  eyes and construction paper. You could use paint, felt or foam too.

To fire your shooter, put a cotton ball or marshmallow inside and gently pull back on the balloon. Then, let go!

The kids loved these! They tried shooting it in each others cups, multiple cotton balls at once and the classic chase each other around the house. A perfect (and easy) winter time craft-ivity!
