Pop Up Christmas Tree Card
The kids and I like to make our own Christmas cards each year to send out to family. We’ve made Snowman Cards, Painted Christmas Tree Cards and this year we made this awesome 3D Pop Up Christmas Tree Card. There are two ways to make this card. Print and use the template as the card or use the template to cut construction paper into a 3D tree.
You will need:
Construction Paper – optional
Glue
Scissors
Colored Pencils, Crayons or Markers
Printable template at the bottom of this page!
Print out the template and color in the presents and decorations.
If you are going to use the template as the card, color the tree in too.
If you are using construction paper, use the template to cut the constuction paper into a rectangle. Fold the template in half with the construction paper folded behind it.
Cut along the dotted, wavy lines.
Fold each layer of the tree that you cut back along the solid line. Do this both directions to help the tree “pop”.
Cut a piece of cardstock into a rectangle just slightly larger than the template.
Glue the construction paper onto the cardstock. Do not glue the tree down, only the surrounding areas.
When you open your card, your tree should POP! You may need to help it out the first time.
Now you can carefully glue on the decorations and presents.
Write a Christmas message and send them out to friends and family!
