Patriotic 4th Of July Silly Stars and Stripes Hat
With Flag Day just around the corner, I thought it would be fun to share a simple and silly craft you can do with the kids. This Silly Stars and Stripes Hat is super easy, and all you need is some construction paper, glue, and a bit of creativity. The kids will love making these colorful hats and showing off their patriotic spirit. Perfect for a family get-together, a parade or just some afternoon fun.
You Will Need:
Construction Paper – Red, White & Blue
Glue
Decorations – flag heart stickers, sparkly star foam stickers, metallic star stickers, or anything else you’d like to add to your hat! You can use markers, sequins, Kwik Stix, or simply cut out stars from construction paper.
Instructions:
1. Start by cutting the band. I used a full sheet of construction paper and cut it into thirds longways. Glue along the edge to create a long band. Wrap the band around your child’s head to determine the length you need, then glue it together.
My 6 year old needed 2 of the pieces while my older kid needed all 3.
2. Cut 1 inch strips of red and white construction paper. You can cut them with a ruler and scissors or use a paper cutter like I did.
3. Now you can decorate your band.
4. Glue each strip onto the inside of the band, alternating red and white.
Wear your hats to celebrate Memorial Day, Flag Day or the 4th of July!
