Invitation to Craft – Fall Flower, Tree & Turkey

With winter setting in and our first real snow today, we’ve been talking about seasons with Miss 4. We talked about which colors we see in the summer and which we see in the fall. I thought one more fall craft would be nice before we went into winter. She made a pretty fall flower, tree & turkey.

You will need:
Construction Paper
Scissors
Glue
Googly Eyes
Toilet paper roll
Stapler (optional)

These are REALLY EASY to cut out and wing it but just in case you wanted something to trace quick, I made this template for you!

Turkey, Flower & Leaves Template
Tree Template

Print out the tree template. Cut the leaves for the tree. I used red, orange, yellow and brown.

For the flower, you need an orange circle for the middle, yellow petals and a green stem and leaf. I used a full sheet of construction paper for the flower background. Miss 4 wanted to add a face so we used 2 googly eyes and a marker.

For the turkey, a toilet paper roll, large feathers (we did fall colors), 2 googly eyes, a red snood (the wobbly thing under the turkey’s beak), and an orange beak.

We started with the flower. The petals and googly eyes are great for those little fingers to work with. Fine motor skills and creativity hard at work.

Her favorite was the tree. She wanted to add grass so we cut a long piece of green and cut fringe. Fringing is great for scissor practice!

For the Turkey feathers, we stapled them together and used a little glue to keep them from flopping over. Then we glued it onto the back of the toilet paper roll.

All of these turned out so cute and she had a great time putting them together.
