How To Throw A Magical Unicorn Birthday Party
Little Miss asked for a Unicorn Birthday Party for her 6th birthday, so of course we went all out! Setting everything up was so much fun. We put up a backdrop for pictures with pretty balloons, we made lots of pastel rainbow desserts (including a GORGEOUS Rainbow Unicorn Cake!), organized a balloon arch, set up games and did make-up and hair. Everyone had a blast!
DECORATIONS
We ordered three Pink Tutu Table Skirts. I was really happy with these. They are very high quality and they made the tables look SO cute!
- Unicorn Hanging Swirl Decorations
- Unicorn Balloon Arch
The balloon arch came with a unicorn head foil balloon, a plastic piece to make a balloon flower and small foil diamond balloons. It was absolutely gorgeous but my irrational fear of balloons could have won America’s Funniest Home videos while I put this together, I’m sure! - Standing Unicorn Balloon – Table Sized
- Unicorn Pom Pom Backdrop
We filled our foil balloons with regular air with our Balloon Air Pump and they worked great. I hung a couple of them with ribbon alongside the photo backdrop.
A bit of the wall was showing so I used this Gold Sequin Table Cloth to cover it. Then we bunched up tissue paper and taped it along the edges. It accented it nicely!
FOOD
For dinner, we ordered pizza and wings. My MIL made a delicious charcuterie board. We had Unicorn Horns (bugles!), Unicorn Bark and Unicorn Chex Mix for snacks. Plus, a gorgeous Rainbow Unicorn Cake! We had pink lemonade to drink.
- Rainbow Laced Plates
(The rainbow appears to be out of stock right now. Hopefully they get more soon!) - Pink Stadium Cups
- Unicorn Cake Topper
- Unicorn Cupcake Toppers
- Pink & Gold Paper Straws
We got the silverware at our local party store. It was actually leftover from another party (score!).

This little cake was our “covid cake.” Basically, the cake Little Miss used to blow the candles out! It was rainbow inside too, which she loved!
- Unicorn Candles
- Rainbow Confetti Sprinkles – I’m going to go out on a limb here and claim that these are the BEST confetti sprinkles ever made! These are not your typical confetti sprinkles, they taste SO good!
- Edible Rose Glitter
MAKE-UP & HAIR
We bought some fancy glitter eye shadow and lip gloss, hair extensions and cute gems. My amazing hairdresser came over to do a special makeover for the girls. They were truly sparkling!
Here’s what we used.
Make-up:
Hair:
- Curly Rainbow Hair Extensions
- Straight Rainbow Hair Extensions
- Hair Gem Twist-Ins
- Blinger Glam Styling Tool
- Thick Rainbow Hair Ties
- Thin Rainbow Hair Ties
We also bought these pretty rainbow ribbons, but didn’t end up using them.

GIFT BAGS
Now that everyone was looking magical, I gave the girls thier gift bags. In them they found adorable tutus, pink necklaces, a bracelet, sparkle sunglasses, a lollipop, unicorn stickers and a few other little things. The birthday girl got a rainbow tutu and hair bow. We got the other girls pink and purple tutus. The tutus came from amazon, the rest we got at the local party store.
GAMES
You probably know how hard it is to organize the littles at a party to play games! I got ZERO pictures (besides the one before the party)! Luckily some others sent some pictures my way. But the kids had fun and that’s all that matters. The first thing the girls did was pounce on the blow up unicorn!
FOR THE BROTHER
We got this adorable Unicorn Security – Don’t Mess With My Sister T-Shirt for Mr 3. His favorite color is green so we went with a green theme for him.
He got a green gift bag with green sunglasses, a green bracelet, a gold chain necklace, a green dinosaur sticker and a green lollipop.
For his hair, we bought green spray hair color from the party store and hair wax to make a mohawk.Â
I hope this helps inspire you to have a Magical Unicorn Birthday Party!
Super huge shout out to my MIL for going all out for the kid’s birthday parties!
