Home Depot’s Kids Workshop – An Exciting Building Activity
Let me tell you, the Home Depot Kids Workshop is a game-changer for little builders! Imagine a place where your kids can roll up their sleeves, grab some tools, and bring their project to life – that’s the magic of the Home Depot Kids Workshop!
One of the coolest things about these workshops is how they empower kids to use real tools in a safe and supervised environment. They get to hammer in nails and use screwdrivers to twist in screws while learning valuable skills that will stick with them for life. From following instructions to measuring and hammering, these workshops are great for all kids.
Each project comes with a pin that shows what you made and the month and year you made it. My kids are decorating their Home Depot apron with their pins. They look forward to having an apron full of pins!
And here’s the best part – they’re totally free! Home Depot generously provides all the materials and tools needed to complete each project. Plus, if you can’t stay for the workshop, they’ll even give you a kit to take home so the building fun can continue! My daughter was at a sleepover. Her brother asked nicely for a kit for her and they happily provided one for us. She got to put hers together at home.
But more than just building stuff, these workshops are all about sparking creativity and fostering a love for craftsmanship. Whether it’s building a birdhouse, a toy truck, or a mini toolbox, your kids will love putting together their projects.
This month the kids made a garden lattice at Home Depot. Home Depot provided organic carrot seeds but we had a better idea. I was gifted a Garden Republic Herb Garden Starter Kit so the kids decided to plant dandelions and use the carrot seeds in our big garden instead.
Of course our new puppy, Philo, joined in on the planting! Check out my post on how we are training Philo and incorporating him into our homeschooling.
So, if you’ve got a little DIY enthusiast at home, I highly recommend checking out the Home Depot Kids Workshop. Workshops are held on the first Saturday of each month. Trust me, your kiddos will love it!
