Hand Print Bats
These cardboard tube bats are fang-tastically spooky and a perfect addition to your Halloween decor!
You will need:
Toilet paper rolls
Black construction paper
White paper (if you want fangs)
Glue
Scissors
Googly eyes
White colored pencil or crayon
Start by cutting strips of black construction paper – 4 inches wide and 5 1/2 inches long. Then, wrap the toilet paper roll with the construction paper. You can choose to paint it instead. On a different sheet of paper, trace your hands!
Cut out your traced hands and glue them on the back of the toilet paper rolls.
Ahria really wanted to cut out the hands. I knew it would end up not working out (she’s not great with scissors yet!) but I have to pick my battles. I didn’t want to have to restart a whole new hand but it’s these times that I need to remind myself that this is about HER! Go with the flow. Let her try, even if it results in a mistake. Because really, what does it take to trace one more hand?! Here she is counting her fingers to make sure when she snipped off a finger, it didn’t get snipped off in real life! This silly moment wouldn’t have happened if I didn’t let her try!
Add googly eyes and fangs if you wish!
Use a hole punch and add string if you want to hang them.
Remember when I said go with the flow? Ahria insisted that her bats have buttons. So buttons they shall have!
