Flower Arranging Sensory Bin

Spring is breathing life into this cooped up family! This winter has been dragging and we’re so excited to be going outside and smelling the warmer air. Miss 4 has been learning about the life cycle of a butterfly and the parts of a flower. This was a perfect way to add a sensory table to our theme.

You will need:
Pinto Beans
Fake Flowers – Marshall’s
Small Flower Pots
Shovels

Can I admit that I played with the pinto beans for ..too long..! They are so smooth! I bought 2 16 ounce bags (3 bags would have been perfect!) and poured it into our Flisat Table. The kids got this table for Christmas and we LOVE it. We do all our crafts and sensory activities at our table.

We had some extra flowers from Miss 4’s Young Wild and Three Party so I brought them up from the basement and cut them to the perfect length.

She loved arranging and rearranging her flowers. We talked about the parts of a flower – stem, leaves, petals, and where the roots would grow. Our shovels were from her Spongebob Birthday Party!

Mr. 1 got in on it too, although, he likes to quickly turn and pour it on the floor without any warning. Quite the stinker!

This is an awesome activity for coordination and fine motor skills. We put our finished arrangements on Miss 4’s dresser in her room. I’m sure she will ask to rearrange them again tomorrow! She really enjoyed this!

Happy Spring!!
