We have been anxious to discover a new adventure destination, so we decided to camp out at HoliMont Bike Park. With options ranging from camping and paddleboarding to taking the mountain bike lift, this place seemed to have it all. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint! It turned out to be one of the best experiences we’ve ever had as a family!

Ellicottville

HoliMont Bike Park is in Ellicottville, NY. Ellicottville is a charming mountain village. Nestled in the scenic hills, it offers a delightful blend of boutique shops and cozy restaurants that invite you to explore and savor local flavors. The town’s quaint streets and friendly atmosphere provide a warm welcome to visitors. Whether you’re strolling through the vibrant downtown or enjoying the natural beauty surrounding you, Ellicottville exudes a charming and inviting mountain feel.

Camping

There was not a lot of information about camping at HoliMont before we got there. We arrived at Holimont Bike Park and took the first left into the large parking lot under the bike lift to talk to the staff. HoliMont staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating. We immediately felt a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. Camping was $25. This included a long parking spot in a gravel parking lot and access to a fire pit (but we prefer to use our Ignik Fire Box). There is no water or electric hookup. The bathrooms are open 24 hours, super clean, and are located next to the staff building, which is a little bit of a walk to get to from the camping lot, but nothing unreasonable.

To get to the camping lot, turn right out of the main parking lot, the second driveway on the left is the camping section. You will see stakes with white numbered signs. Luckily for us, we were the only ones camping!

Our night camping was peaceful, comfortable, and fun! We sat around the fire talking, played football, took a walk, chased bunnies (there are a ton of bunnies!), played with light sticks and we watched the moon rise above the mountain.

Moutain Biking Lift & Trails

The bike lift was a game-changer, making it easy for us to access the mountain’s many trails without breaking a sweat. Whether you’re a seasoned biker or just starting out, HoliMont has trails for every level. The mountain biking trails are extremely well maintained and the staff told me that they are continuing to expand the bike park and services offered. Loading your bike onto the lift is very easy, even for younger bikers. After you load your bike, you go on a peaceful ride up the mountain with breathtaking views. When you reach the top, HoliMont staff will unload your bike for you.

The Pond

At the top of the mountain, there is a pond where HoliMont offers paddleboard or kayak rentals and a small swimming beach. The swimming area is clean and free of seaweed. When we were there, they had a tent by the pond with “make your own tye-dye t-shirts” and were also holding a fishing derby.

Friendly Atmosphere

One thing that really stood out at HoliMont was the incredibly friendly atmosphere. Everyone from the staff to the visitors was welcoming and helpful. We also loved the walking trails, which provided a relaxing way to explore the area. And if your bike needs a little TLC, Loud Underground had a trailer offering bike repair and rentals – super convenient!

All in all, our day at HoliMont Bike Park was filled with adventure, relaxation, and quality family time. Whether you’re into biking, paddleboarding, or just enjoying the great outdoors, HoliMont has something for everyone. We can’t wait to go back and explore even more of what this fantastic park has to offer!
