Plastic Wrap Painting
My daughter LOVES painting. She is constantly asking me to paint with “real” paints instead of water color but I hate the mess! Plastic wrap painting is the perfect solution! I got this idea from Creative Fun for Kids. I knew when I saw her cute elephant painting that I needed to try it. And even though our elephant is a bit of an ugly duckling, the babes really enjoyed making it. Here’s how we did it.
You will need:
Paint
Cardstock or Painting Paper
Plastic Wrap
Painter’s Tape

Set up your plastic wrap painting on newspaper or brown paper table cloth. That way, if anything drips you can just roll it up and toss it.

Put drops of paint on the paper and cover it with plastic wrap. Tape the edges down and SMOOSH! I think if the plastic wrap was a bit tighter, it would have worked a little nicer but this did the job just fine!

Mr. 1 was mainly interested in digging his nail in as hard as he could to get to the paint while Miss 4 was interested in mixing colors to make other colors. Blue and yellow was her favorite.

When you’re done, pull up the tape and plastic wrap to reveal your awesome painting!

After they dried, we drew what we saw. A duck, an elephant (he’s beautiful, I know!), a squirrel and a robot!
You could also cut and frame them or turn them into cards.
This was basically mess free and super easy. I definitely recommend giving it a try!
