Building Blocks Activities
When we are stuck inside, I try to come up with fun ideas to get the kids moving. We use Painter’s Tape As A Balance Beam, exercise to Animal Workout on the Alexa and the kids love to break out the Melissa & Doug Cardboard Blocks. We set them up as jumps and pretend to be ponies, build huge towers to run into and even make boats or cars to play pretend in.
You can use pillows, folded blankets or stuffed animals too. Nothing’s more fun than running and jumping into a giant pile of stuffed animals!
Running through huge towers is a favorite. What little boy doesn’t like knocking down a big tower?
Daddy and the kids like building big castles and then protecting it from bad guys. Things get pretty serious when the light sabers come out…
Building blocks are perfect for days at home! I think next time, I will incorporate her stick pony.
